Teachers of secondary students are often accustomed to their pupils being more independent learners who want to be treated as such. It can be difficult to know how much direct help to offer students without feeling overbearing or as though you are coddling them. The aim is to create a balance between self-sufficiency and adequate support to allow all students to be successful.
